My name is Sandra Tenge 

the founder of Pure Wellness.

I have been working in the field of health for over 25 years.

Originally as an Intensive Care Nurse, I decided to switch my focus to preventative health care and furthered my training as a Naturopath, Nutritionist, Herbalist, Health Educator and Coach.

After working with women in clinic for over 25 years, I could see hands on the  frustration they faced and the energy that their worry caused on a daily basis. 
What I also realized was that many of the patients I was working with for gut  health issues were losing weight as a consequence without even trying. 

I focused my research on uncovering any combination of 12 factors that I believe are common  blocks to achieving a healthy weight and a healthy gut, mind and body. 

I now offer this systematic approach in an easy to follow on-line course.
I guide you through identifying your individual blocks. How to test or assess
each of them and how to treat and manage them.

I challenge those myths that have kept you stuck for all this time.

As a specialist in gut health, the microbiome, food allergies and intolerances, I have helped 1000’s of patients return to optimal health.

I believe a healthy gut is truly one of the foundations for whole health. Your gut health impacts on your energy, sleep, mood, hormones, weight and so much more.

My own journey with gut health…

It was early in my career as a Naturopath when I ran a health food cafe in conjunction with my clinic that I realised how much support and guidance was needed for those with food intolerances and poor digestion.

Gut health became my passion. As I had my own children, I had the experience of dealing with food intolerances in kids, the cravings that ensued and bowel parasites that often occur with these younger age groups.

My naturopathic training in the ancient modalities and principles of healing the gut was also being backed up by a surge of evidence based medical research that finally shone the light on the gut as a foundation for health.

However, it was when I experienced post infective SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth) myself, that I came to understand what it really feels like to deal with IBS every day.

I was lucky that I had my training and background and knew exactly what was happening straight away. I was able to treat myself quickly. Many of my clients have suffered for years before seeing me for help.

Now, through perimenopausal, I empathise with those whose hormonal changes, be they PMT cravings, PCOS weight gain, estrogen dominance, sluggish thyroid or menopausal changes, affect they’re responsiveness to diet and exercise.

As a busy mum I strive to find the balance of self care, family life and a passion for helping others on their own individual health journey.

 What’s the ‘Healthy Gut, Healthy Weight Solution’ about?

I have developed the online course after working with clients in my clinic for over 20yrs.
I share my experience and knowledge of how the health of the gut plays a role with achieving a healthy weight.
I have identified over 12 factors that I believe need to be brought into balance, to allow the body to return to health. The modules cover all 12 factors I have found in the clinic hinder or block the bodies’ ability to achieve a healthy weight. By identifying and beginning to address these, you will help your body to mobilise stubborn fat stores.

Aspects such as nutrition, gut health, inflammation, hormones, blood sugar levels, stress, sleep, mindset, emotions, lifestyle, exercise and self-care are all covered. Over 6 weeks, I help you identify and start to address which are appropriate for you to work with in your journey to a healthier gut and weight.
All throughout, I give suggestions for nutrient rich wholefoods and using food as medicine.

The course challenges some traditional diet myths and focuses on a healthy wholefood approach to nourishing your body with food to achieve a healthy body and mind, thereby a healthy balanced weight.

You will then be sent all the registration details and be able to set your own profile details and password to gain access to the course content online.

Each week’s content will be unlocked on the Sunday prior to keep you on track one module at a time.

What is the cost and time commitment for the course? 

The cost of the course is $997 and it is delivered over 6 weeks, with 6 lessons each week. There is bonus mindset and implementation content in week 7 as well.
Each lesson is around 10 mins, and there's a questionnaire once a week. The content is structured so it is easy to follow, you can watch a video each day or you can catch up or take an hour or two over the weekend to watch each week's video's.
You have access for 12 weeks so there's no rush to get through it all. 

Does the course run from a specific start date or can I sign up and start at any time? 

  The course begins on the 5th October and runs for 6 weeks with an additional bonus week added, making 7 weeks in total. Everyone will start and finish at the same time. The modules will be unlocked one at a time each week, although you can make your way through each week's lessons as quickly or slowly as you like. There are other participants, alongside the Healthy Gut, Healthy Weight team in the private Facebook group to chat with any time, so you always feel supported. Coaching sessions can also be accessed through the course.

Why is this course different from other Weight Management Programs?

This course is led by a qualified Naturopath, Nutritionist and Nurse, Sandra Tenge with over 25 yrs experience. Many online programs are run by influencers with little training, experience or qualifications. Sandra also comes with her own personal experience with gut health and peri-menopause and is very relatable and real in her approach.

 Is the course a diet?

No, the course is predominantly an education in how the health of the gut plays a role with achieving a healthy weight. Aspects such as nutrition, inflammation, gut health, hormones, blood sugar levels, stress, sleep, mindset, emotions, lifestyle, exercise and self-care are all covered as well as giving suggestions for nutrient rich wholefoods.

 Do I need to follow a special diet whilst doing the course?

What you eat plays a major role in a healthy gut and healthy body and I speak through the course about nourishing the body with nutrient-rich wholefoods.

The information in the course includes how food choices can significantly impact all areas. Healthy swaps and suggestions that use food as medicine are given in each module of the course.

If you prefer structure, the course comes with access to 3 of my top programs with recipes, meal plans and shopping lists.
You can choose to follow one of these 3 plans as you make your way through the course, or you are welcome to follow your own meal plan or prescribed diet if you have one from a health practitioner.

 I cook for a family / my partner. Can they also follow the meal plan?

Yes, the meals are suitable for a family. Your whole house will benefit from the healthy wholefood recipes suggested in the course.

 Can someone else prepare my meals?

Yes, the recipes are easy to follow and can be easily prepared for you. Some can also be made ahead of time and frozen.

Is the course run online?

Yes, the course is delivered over 6 weeks with 1 bonus week’s module at the end. It can be accessed anywhere in the world and runs continually. The content is delivered via recorded videos, presentations and downloadable resources. A private facebook group also shares content, Q and A sessions and community support.

Group coaching calls are an additional option and are done via zoom. Individual one-on-one coaching is also an option when availability allows.

 How long do I have access to the course?

The course runs over 6 weeks with an additional bonus module in week 7. Access to the course continues afterwards for those that don’t complete all modules in the set time. In total you can access the course for 12 weeks. All resources can be downloaded and are yours to keep indefinitely to continue to refer to.

 How do I log in to the course?

Once you’ve enrolled, you’ll be sent an email with your login details. This will allow you to access the portal where you’ll find all the resources and materials to get started on week one of the course. 

The following weeks will be unlocked one at a time to give you time to keep up to date. You will be able to go back and access previous weeks content and download resources.

Can I access the course on my phone/mobile/ tablet?

The course can be viewed on any device - your phone, laptop, tablet or desktop.

Can I share my membership?

The program is designed for you individually with your own personal access. The modules are designed that as you make your way through the weeks, your journey to understanding your own factors holding you back from achieving a healthy gut and healthy weight are identified and addressed. 

Therefore we require a commitment that you won’t share the content with those not enrolled.

What time commitment does the course require?

The content can be viewed at your own leisure. The videos are short, around 5-10 minutes. They are concise and full of useful information, but not too heavy. 

We have structured the course so that you see real change and an improvement in your health in a guided way that is easy to consume. With the additional resources and reading, we estimate between 15-30 minutes a day. The content is delivered each week, so you can access a lesson a day or sit down with a cup of tea to work through a whole module once a week.
